3 More Punta Cana Resorts Reviewed for Destination Weddings

A few weeks ago Ashley reviewed Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana and revealed that she actually visited 15 resorts in the area during her stay. This week she reviews 3 more Punta Cana resorts for all those interested in a Dominican Republic destination wedding.

These reviews are a treat to write because I get to experience the visit all over again! Here’s are my reviews for the Melia Caribe/Tropical, Paradisus Palma Real and Paradisus Punta Cana:

Melia Caribe Tropical

This all-inclusive beach and golf resort is one of the best Punta Cana hotels for family fun. There’s a world-class golf course nearby and a casino! If you have kids in your destination wedding, they’ll love The Flintstones themed activities and facilities.

Laura, the delightful and friendly wedding coordinator for this hotel, gave us a scenic tour of the property and we scouted out several ideal locations for gorgeous wedding photos! A definite plus in our books.

As we walked around, she reviewed for us the many different options available for weddings at the Melia Caribe/Tropical.

The first order of business was the most important: wedding ceremony locations.

  1. Gazebo. The gazebo makes for the perfect intimate setting due to the location. It’s in a low traffic area so the couple and their guests will have minimal onlookers for their big moment.
  2. Beach Gazebo. The beach gazebo is a bit smaller than the regular gazebo, however, there is a great view of the ocean to set a great backdrop for your wedding pictures.

Dining Facilities
The Melia Caribe/Tropical has over a dozen restaurants to choose from for a wide variety of international dining experiences. We were shown the banquet halls that couples can use to host their dinner and reception. There were different options depending on the size of the group. Two of the halls also have a patio outside so the guests have the option to step outside for some fresh air!

Paradisus Palma Real

This hotel had definite WOW factor. If you’re looking for posh and elegance, this is your hotel! From the lobby, you have a great view of the center of the resort and the turquoise ocean in the distance. And the pool areas are lined with exotic Bali beds!

The Paradisus Palma Real has many different options to cater to wedding groups of all sizes. Their private club area, `GABi Beach’, offers an exclusive location to celebrate your wedding (at an additional charge).

One of the things I loved about this resort was the beach location for the ceremony. Although it’s not 100% private, there is a large area that is blocked off so the couple and their guests will have a large area of the beach just for them to celebrate the couples new life together.

The Paradisus Palma Real is a gorgeous property that would not only be great a setting for a destination wedding but also a romantic honeymoon or anniversary trip.

Paradisus Punta Cana

This all-inclusive hotel was one of my favourites for many reasons but especially for the spacious, beautiful architecture and natural décor where they’ve brought the out-side indoors!

They offer tennis, championship golf, an array of gorgeous pools, every non-motorized water sport imaginable, a casino, an exquisite full-service spa and health club and a thrilling collection of unique island activities.

As for the wedding specifics, we met with the wedding coordinator who started our tour of the property with the indoor banquet facilities and rain options available at the hotel.

We were then shown the Reserve section of the hotel. The Reserve rooms were spectacular. They offered a great setting for families traveling with young children as well as couples who want a bit of extra pampering on their holiday.

The Paradisus Punta Cana also offers the Royal Service Adults only section. After leaving the Reserve section we got a full tour of the property including restaurants, bars, the spa and beach gazebo. The new YHI Spa was amazing, offering many different treatments to pamper the bride (and her girls!) before the big day!

There is a private pool area that all guests of the hotel have access to, too; however not everyone knows about! If you want a quiet pool all to yourselves, make sure you swing by the spa.

I hope you enjoyed my Punta Cana hotel reviews. Is there anything I missed that you would like to hear more of? Let me know below in the comment section. And please stay tuned for more!
