A Dream Destination Wedding in Punta Cana

If you caught our first destination wedding webinar, you’ll know that Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, is one of our favourite, recommended destinations for Beachside Couples. In today’s testimonial, we review the Bahia Principe resort.

SamFilipe2With it’s white, silky sands and aquamarine waters, the Dominican Republic provides the ideal backdrop for a wedding in paradise.

The Hotel Gran Bahia Principe Punta Cana is a large, all-inclusive resort that offers wedding facilities, like an open-air wedding pavilion, and comprehensive packages with everything you will need for your destination wedding: wedding cake, floral decorations, gala dinner reception, etc… and live typically Dominican music.

The grounds are well-kept and immense, complete with an amphitheater for entertainment and shows, 10 restaurants, 4 snack bars, 6 bars, tennis court, spa, sunbathing terraces and gardens, mini golf, aquatics activity center and beach scuba diving center, gym, train service to get around and 2 swimming pools.

We often hear people comment about the spectacular staff at the Gran Bahia. They are especially known for their friendliness, courtesy and going out of their way to please guests.

One of the lures for destination weddings is that it doubles as a vacation for many people. So it’s an excellent idea to choose a hotel with a variety of services and entertainment options.SamFilipe12

At the Gran Bahia, couples and their guests enjoy:

  • Daily entertainment with live music (Merengue, Bachata and Salsa) and shows
  • Discotheque, piano-bar and sport karaoke bar
  • Shops
  • Internet
  • Casino
  • International guest entertainment program for adults and children (day and evening)
  • Organized games and activities
  • Children’s activities in the mini-club (4-12 years)
  • Sports –1 hour free per day: Windsurfing, kayaking, sailing, boogie boarding, sailing catamarans, tennis (floodlit with surcharge), mountain biking, snorkeling.
  • Sports –upon request: Petanque, soccer, basketball, volleyball, mini-golf, ping-pong, water polo.
  • Sports –1 per customer / per stay: Scuba diving classes in the swimming pool
  • Aerobics and Merengue classes

The food, of course, is a major draw for most people. From customizable, made-right-in-front-of-you omelets to filet mignon and fresh seafood, the Gran Bahia delivers for all tastes. Their international buffets and specialties are among the best that we’ve experienced.

The Hotel Gran Bahia Principe Punta Cana is a remarkable option for your romantic Caribbean wedding. But don’t take our word for it. This is what one of our Beachside Brides and her husband had to say about their experience:

Megan and Weddings By Oceans Team,

I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your help planning my wedding and making sure all of our guests made it to Punta Cana. You were truly more than just travel agents, more like fairy godmothers! It was amazing, beautiful and was better than I could have ever imagined.

Thank you Megan for being there to share our special day with us. It meant a lot to us.

We hope to see you again soon!
