Helpful Packing List for Ladies

Many of our destination wedding groups are preparing to depart. We’ve already provided useful destination wedding lists, including a bridal planning checklist and a men’s packing list, so here’s a packing list for the ladies!

Along with airline policies and required identification, when you leave the country you’ll need a few other items in your suitcase. Many of the following are commonsense but it’s hard to think when you’re rushing around at the last minute! Just print this post out and check things off as you go!

Essentials

  • Passport*
  • Medical Insurance Card (Info/Traveling Card)*
  • E-ticket or Plane Ticket*
  • VISA*
  • Driver’s License* (required if you intend to rent any type of motorized vehicle)
  • Cash (Canadian)
  • Information list of contact information at home

* Make copies of these documents, leave a copy in your suitcase, in your carry on and leave a copy with a contact in Canada that can fax it to you should you require.

Gadgets

Electronic items can be placed in your carry-on baggage; however, you may be asked to turn its power on at security check points. Ensure all of your electronics are charged and ready.

Please be advised that it is unacceptable to wear bathing suits to a beach wedding; guests are expected to attend in proper beach wedding attire.

You may take all medical supplies in your carry-on luggage (if they are not liquid). If you are packing prescription medication, it is advisable that the medication be in original packaging from the pharmacy with your name on it.

Travelling tip: Cash is always appreciated as gratuities, however, in many countries like Cuba, run-of-the-mill items for us may be unavailable or difficult to source for them. Some people leave toiletries and clothing but medicinal items are most appreciated. For example: cough medicine*, aspirin, vitamin C*, cold & sinus tabs, Tums, polysporin, q-tips, nail files, black clothing dye and facecloths. (*in child and adult formula)

    (Just came back from Cuba and they offered a small can of Pringles – about 11 chips – for 3 pesos which converts to approximately $4.50 Cdn!)
