From Holly & Daryl’ Testimonial: Bahia Principe

“Thank you so much for everything you did for us through the whole wedding process… you and your staff were fabulous!!!!!!

SATURDAY

We get to the resort and my future in-laws had all our gifts for our guests out on a table and trays of drinks for everyone. It was great. The travel mugs were a hit and so were the orange bandannas to tie to your beach bag and/or body. We were the last to check in and then the VIP person took us on a tour and to our room. Our room was amazing!!! Fresh fruit, champagne, flowers and a wonderful welcome letter.

We got changed and headed out with or pasty-white skin to the swim up bar to meet our guests.

SUNDAY

We met with Karla our wedding coordinator. She was Amazing!! We think she was an absolute doll and everything was already organized and all we had to do was pick flowers and a cake. As far as wedding planning goes she is amazing!

Tacky Tourist Night!!!!
Daryl and I decided a great way of everyone getting to know each other, would be to all get dressed up like tourists, very tacky ones at that. And have a fun night out at the resort. What a blast we had! Everyone was told before had to bring an outfit. Daryl and I switched outfits just before we went out. He wore a moo moo! hilarious. I made him have dinner with it on! The outfits were great and a lot of people that were not with our group enjoyed the entertainment.

MONDAY

Just a nice day to get some last minute things figured out. Rehearsal Dinner: we went to the buffet at the premier club. It was quieter than the main buffet and they were able to put us off in a quiet corner to do our thing.

I had forgotten to give Karla my sand ceremony set and ask for a flower for my hair. It was great I found her running through the lobby and she said no problem and I left the sand stuff at the front desk and she said the flower would be at the spa at some point during my hair appointment.

Booking the appointments went fine we also booked a massage outdoors for Daryl and I the morning after our wedding. They gave us a complimentary water circuit for afterward. Did I mention that I have never seen that much rain in a long time… thunder and lightning like I have never seen and the power went out twice. haha.

WEDDING DAY!!!! 30 degrees!!! sunny!!!

Breakfast 7:30am and Hair at 8:30am
I had a picture of what I wanted my hair to be like. The girl who did my hair, did an amazing job! It was exactly what I wanted. My mothers and the BM`s hair were amazing too. The were amazing at the spa! Always had water juice and fruit for us to eat/drink.

Time to get dressed I did my own makeup it worked out very well I had gone to a few places in the mall to get some ideas. If anyone asks I recommend Sephora they were awesome!

From this point on everything is a blur especially when I saw my DAD. It must have been a tough day for him but a very proud and happy one too.

The golf cart was right on time. And so were we, believe it or not. The wedding site however was not ready for us so we had to stop and wait a bit so Aggie took some more photos. Just before the ceremony a cloud came over and gave the smallest sprinkle of rain. To this day I believe they were tears from heaven. The Ceremony site was absolutely amazing!!! More than I ever imagined it to be. And Daryl was there!! lol

The Ceremony
Was amazing and romantic and the sand ceremony I wrote worked out very well. And the Jars made it back unharmed.

The photos we took on the beach were amazing however it was HOT!! 30 degrees in a wedding dress…. yeah good thing we had some time to kill before the reception. We all changed and went down to the pool and cooled off for a bit. What a great memory to have. How many people would say that they went swimming on the day of their wedding!

Reception
Words can’t even describe how beautiful or private poolside reception was. Tell anyone who wants to know that the extra expense for something private is SOOOO worth it. The color of our tables matched the girls’ dresses to a tee. I didn’t even tell her our colors she got that from the sand. These are some of the little things Karla did that made everything that much better.

The food was by far the best meal we had all week! And soooo much of it, too. We did the BBQ buffet dinner 6 different kinds of meat/fish. Not one person in our group had any problems with that meal.

We ate, we drank, we danced, and then Daryl and I “TOOK THE PLUNGE” It took some convincing but Daryl finally got me to agree to jump in the pool with my dress on. And just for that our wedding Party jumped in after us. We got some great pics of us all in the pool! The dress was fine it came clean and was perfect for our at home reception. After that we changed and went to the Disco it was probably 5am before we got to sleep. I was exhausted.

OUR ROOM

Our wedding night our wedding party was going to go up and do something to our room as a joke. But when they sent someone up to check it out, they said they couldn’t do it because it was too beautiful the way it was. They were right.

Our room was decorated with rose petals, balloons, flowers, champagne and chocolate-cover strawberries. Everywhere from the bed to the bathroom and more. And a letter from the manager of the Bahia Principe of congrats. Which I didn’t find till the next day as we were both exhausted. hehe

I swear I am almost done……..

The rest of the week was great a little more relaxing and we had more champagne and a note from our maid to say Happy Honeymoon. All of the things the we left behind at the wedding were in our room sometime on Wednesday morning. Anything we wanted we got; it was amazing.

All and all our wedding week was absolutely amazing! We have no complaints about the resort or the wedding or the trip. The only issue was… the seating on the flight down… everything else was perfect.

Oh yeah, our car broke down on the 427 on our way home from the airport, haha to top it all off. Then we wanted to move back to Mexico. I don’t think i forgot anything…. swine flu?? No one harmed we didn’t even know about it until we got back to Canada.

So this ends my review you can put this anywhere you want hopefully there are no spelling mistakes. You, your staff, the resort, the wedding, were all one amazing package. I am recommending you to everyone who asks. And the Bahia Principe, also. One thing though. We WILL be going back! We hardly saw everything! Too busy. Lol”
