We’re excited to share our business travels with you in hopes that it will make your destination wedding decisions a little easier. What a trip! From August 25th to the 29th we were in the Riviera Maya, Mexico with the tropical sun warming our skin, feasting on gourmet food and visiting Karisma properties.
Although we had fun, it was business and it’s what the industry calls a “Fam Trip”. This is an exclusive invitation to travel professionals by hotels/tour operators to conduct site inspections of the resorts, check out the hotel amenities so that we may become `familiar’ with the product and refresh our knowledge of the wedding package inclusions.
It’s an important aspect of our commitment to you to remain up-to-date with all our resort recommendations so that you know what you’re getting for your destination wedding.
Basically, we experienced everything you do when you book a destination wedding at a Karisma resort! Over the four days, while based at the 5-star El Dorado Casitas Royale, we inspected all six of the El Dorado Spa Resorts & Azul Hotels.
We were invited to a mock wedding and reception dinner complete with dance floor and DJ on the beach, sampled gourmet meals, spoke with the wedding planners, met key managers of various properties and travelled around the Mayan Riviera visiting the Karisma properties.
Our trip also included a full day in Karisma’s GI (Gourmet Inclusive) University. This program was designed by Karisma for industry professionals to teach us about their GI philosophy: every detail of a guest’s stay becomes part of an “experience”. From the quality of the food to the variety of services, to décor and amenities nothing is generic. And the inclusive part is merely a convenience of no cash transactions.
The only downside was that we were all alone in our amazingly romantic Casita suites! What a phenomenal place for couples, though. Among the pampering we experienced, they drew us a romantically decorated Jacuzzi bath with rose petals and served us tuxedo-shaped, chocolate-dipped strawberries. Ooo la la.
